I am updating my review for the following reasons: I found the series of the Adventures of Dod while shopping at Sam’s Club and even have them on my Kindle. I am not sure if Thomas R. Williams is a real person or a nom de plume. I can find no trace of him except the three books and the title of a fourth book. I have found the title of the fourth book on line Secrets of the Cursed. In either case I really think this has become too much for this writer. As readers of authors we have a right to know if the writer is even going to finishing the series; and, if the individual is not then please remove the books from all publication sites it’s not fair to lead readers on.Product details

Admittedly I only read the first 200 pages before having to stop, so take that into account. But wow I was hospitalized by boredom and lack of interest! The writting is rudemetary and the plot is unexciting. I think it would be good for anyone under 12 but even then it is a huge book. I'm not really sure who is the target audience but as a fantasy fictiom fan the 1$ I spend at goodwill was a waste.
The fantasy books I enjoy transport me to another world. The Adventures of Dod does an excellent job of creating a vast cohesive world like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. Like most fantasy books, it takes some time and effort to become familiar with the characters and the structure of the universe. Once you're immersed, the novel is a compelling series of events that will drive you to finish the story. Warning I started and stopped reading several times, but once I was about 1/4th of the way in, I couldn't put it down.
Not only is this a page-turner, but along the way you're exposed to moral conflicts which are carefully constructed to illuminate interesting aspects of the decision making process. This is definitely a good book for children who are learning to confront modern moral dilemmas and how to reserve judgment while maintaining awareness.
When someone tells me a movie is amazing, I'm usually let down when I see it. I won't tell you this book is perfect, but if you make the effort to immerse yourself in the story, you'll be glad you read it.
Finally, as a parent, I was very comfortable with the content and the message.
I'm just starting it now, but the kids couldn't wait for this to come out and have really liked it.
It is a really great 2nd book loving it so far.
Wow this book is awesome! I loved it so much. Filed with action and adventure it was. How you all love it as much as I did! ;)
This book is full of adventuring and discovering just like the first! I love the mix between mid evil time to our time. I am especially proud of the description used to describe everything in the books so you can have a clear mind of imagination of the setting, characters and more. I hope you enjoy the books as much as I do!
If your child loves to solve puzzles and has an active, imaginative mind, he will love Adventures of Dod. With clever twists and creative out-of-this-world characters (in name and description), this book, through both character development and plot, re-enforces positive values of family, loyalty, heroism and all the things that really matter in life. Peppered throughout with silly, kid-friendly humor, while also inviting the reader to actually experience the initial confusion at events of the main character, Adventures of Dod stretches the reader to endeavor, with Dod, to solve the big question to which Dod must also find the answer Who am I?
